Essential Oils & Healing Touch Immersion 2020

Eight students gathered from the UK, France and the US for the Essential Oils & Healing Touch Immersion in February. It was a magical time as we played with the school’s large collection of essential oils, carrier oils, macerates and hydrosols, creating blends and healing processes for a range of case studies for health, wellness and beauty.

The first week was dedicated to learning about essential oils, carrier oils and hydrosols integrated with self massage of the hands, feet, face and head. Although getting a massage from a professional is heavenly, having the skills to support oneself, work into those sore spots and keep the energy flowing is so important for long term health. As a practitioner, teaching these skills to your clients in invaluable.

Essential oil topics included quality and safety for different life phases and health conditions, mind-body influences, essential oil families (roots, rhizomes, wood, resin, leaves, seeds, fruits and flowers), carrier oils, macerates and blending. Exploring the personality profiles of each essential oil family was fascinating and we created special 'family' blends that can be combined to work systemically for mind-body healing.

A wide range of hydrosols were introduced for internal and external use, including compresses, spritzes, use in baths and footpaths, culinary uses and diluted internal use. Hydrosols are one of my favourite therapeutic tools, as they are gentle, safe and bridge the therapeutic influences of essential oils and flower essences.

Over the course of the second week, we focused on Healing Touch Reflexology and case studies for symptom patterns, such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, sleeplessness, exhaustion, mental and physical overactivity, along with a range of physical ailments related to stress, systemtic weakness, immunity and hormonal health.

Healing Touch was approached from the perspective of self care, connectivity and therapeutic processes combined with essential oils, macerates, poultices and compresses.

It was a beautiful two weeks immersed in the wonderful healing fragrance of distilled nature, and students achieved a strong foundation for the safe and creative use of therapeutic essential oils and healing touch.

Now we look forward to the Quantum Botanicals & Healing Touch in May, where we will explore vibrational plant medicine, plant communication, botanical drawing and the 12 Windows of Perception, flower essences and the continuum between fear and trust, Bach’s 12 Healers, 7 Helpers and 19 Situational Essences, the FES range of essences, floral acupuncture, mind mapping, and a range of therapeutic and consultation skills.
